FK Model CTS Combustion Turbine Silencer

MODULAR ACOUSTIC PANEL DESIGN

  • Smaller panel modules provide a more rigid and durable structure than larger panel designs providing greater resistance to the destructive fatigue cycles generated by the turbulent flow of turbine exhaust.

  • A slot and key design insures proper panel alignment and consistency in assembly for optimum silencer performance.

  • Smaller, lighter panel modules provide for quicker and easier handling during installation or during removal should inspection, repair or replacement ever be required.

FLOW CONDITIONING LEADING EDGE

  • The semicircular geometry of the leading edge faces perform a conditioning function by reducing the amount of turbulence in the flow stream as it enters the slots between the acoustic panel modules.

  • The reinforced leading edge also provides a protective function by significantly reducing the erosive effects of direct flow impact upon the surfaces of the acoustic panel modules.

FREE EXPANSION STRUCTURAL DESIGN

  • The modular acoustic panel assemblies expand freely within the boundary created by the leading edge. This design allows for independent component growth due to thermal expansion inherent in turbine exhaust applications.

  • The modular acoustic panel contains no welded and/or bolted connections which are vulnerable to the damaging effects of thermal cycling or high cyclonic flows.
